The small unincorporated community of Joyce is located on the northern edge of Washington State's Olympic Peninsula, in Clallam County, about 15 miles west of the city of Port Angeles. The Joyce Emergency Planning and Preparation Group (JEPP) is a subcommittee of the Joyce Fire Auxiliary, a 501(c)(3) non profit organization. JEPP was formed in 2016 to support the mission of the Joyce Fire Auxiliary which is “to promote the ability of Clallam County Fire Protection District No. 4 to provide effective and efficient service in response to man-made or natural disasters.” The JEPP Group’s vision is a disaster ready and resilient Joyce and its mission is to prepare the small community to cope with large scale disasters, including a major CSZ earthquake.

Each project was created to be easy to do, inexpensive, and should only take about an hour to complete. New topics will be added every month throughout 2024. You’re invited to receive notifications that new projects have been released. The first project involves creating a communication plan. At the end of the year, the names of all those who registered and completed the 12 projects will be placed in a drawing for an assortment of prizes.
