The JEPP Group has organized a cache (stockpile) of supplies, materials, and equipment for use in the planned Joyce Emergency Shelter following a large-scale emergency. The cache and associated local emergency response plans will provide live saving support in town until rescuers arrive on the scene. A cadre of volunteers is being trained to provide temporary services at the shelter and beyond in order to house and/or care for those with medical needs, including those whose homes may have been damaged beyond use. The cache includes first aid supplies, non-perishable food, water filtration/purification systems, cots and sleeping bags, emergency lighting, assorted tools, supplies for cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene and sanitation, and much more.
The photos at left show container shelving under construction in Conex #2, and shelves stocked with supplies. These were taken in 2020-2021. Each of the JEPP's two Conex storage containers utilize both steel and wooden shelving and both containers are wired for lighting and temperature control.
The wide angle photo at left, taken in 2020, captures the JEPP inventory in Conex #1. Supplies have been carefully organized, identified by section and shelf number, inventoried, and strapped to prevent tumbling during a ground-shaking earthquake.
These images showing the exterior of Conex #1 , its fencing and roofing, and a portion of its interior food storage were taken in 2020-2021. JEPP's temperature and humidity controlled container #1 contains vacuum-sealed goods, non-perishable food, cots and other gear.
These images at left, taken in 2019-2020, show cans of Augason foods, cots, sleeping bags and other supplies stored in Conex #1. The container also holds a large quantity if Meals Ready to Eat (MREs) for use by Shelter managers and personal in the first days of operation before the Field Kitchen is made operational and community members are admitted.
